INQUISITION

At 2.5 years, I’d like to call this guy a “QUESTION BANK”.

From the moment he opens his eyes till he falls asleep, the ratio of his speech is 10questions:1statement. Our entire family and I get tired answering his consistent questions, that he persists on getting the answers to, but he still has more.

One reason why toddlers ask so many questions and why they keep repeating the same question over and over again – is to build the answer in their memories. To find assurance in the answer is another reason they keep asking for the same reply over and over again. They are building their vocabulary, grasping new words and feeding them into their memories all at the same time while they seek answers from us. Which is why it takes so many times for them to comprehend from a single statement.

There is so much that this budding brain needs to register in his tiny mind in this endless world of learning. It’s nice to see him getting inquisitive but at times it also gets to my head when I’m being asked a gazillion questions each day. I love his prying eyes and most of the times I can guess what question is gonna be shot at me next.

Sun-Safe Mama and Baby

If you guys follow my blog, you’d probably know how much Baby K and I love to be outdoors. The weather in the place we live in though 🙄 isn’t being quite merciful for some time now.

Does that mean we should stop going outside? How are we going to drain the abundance of energy the little one wakes up with? We are obviously not sitting at home but what we do is that we try our best to stay precautionary and safe in this scorching summer sun. The two things that I am extremely particular about, for both baby K and myself are –

a) To keep ourselves hydrated – water, lemon water, coconut water are few things that are a part of our daily staples. We try to sip one or the other thing every half an hour (and/or when needed) to make sure our bodies don’t lose out on the water quotient. I try to keep each one of these things completely accessible and in sight of baby K so that he never misses out on them.

b) To keep our skin safe – sun protection is a major thing for me. I hate to wear makeup on regular days, to avoid my problem skin get agitated and the only thing that’s usually on my face is the La Shield IR Sunscreen gel.

It was referred to me by a dermatologist and I totally swear by it since it’s everything my skin loves. It is protective, non sticky, light, oil free and gel based.

Price – 600 ₹ on Amazon

For the baby – I have been using the Mamaearth sun protectant ever since it was launched. It can be used from age 0-10 years. It is completely safe, mild and non sticky (I have this thing for non sticky, having an oily skin type). I have witnessed that dabbing the sunscreen on his sun exposed areas keeps his sensitive skin non irritable and protected. I absolutely trust this brand and am satisfied with it’s body lotion, body wash and toothpaste that I have been using on the baby as well. The sun protectant is hypoallergenic and chemical free and also very importantly, it is artificial fragrance free which is why I can use it on his face.

Price – 251₹ on Amazon.

Hair that blooms – Aaranya hair spa review

‘Tis the season for bougainvillea to bloom and don’t we all want our hair to blossom too?!

I have never been able to confine myself to many hair/skin care products except for one or two. I love to try new brands but there are very few products that last in my grooming product list for very long.

Recently, when @glamradaofficial sent across their trial box, it contained this argan oil hair pack from @aaranyaa_. Much reluctantly I tried it on my hair.

Just applied this on shampooed and towel dried hair for 20 mins and rinsed it off. I am so impressed by how lustrous and silky it has made my hair look. My hair looks exactly how it looked after my keratin treatment. I am so glad @glamradaofficial introduced me to the world of @aaranyaa_. After two satisfactory uses, I have ordered a bigger size of this hair pack as I desperately need it to tame my damaged and frizzy hair. Upon two uses, I found the results more satisfactory when I applied it by taking small chunks of hair instead of applying straight away on all my hair and then by gently massaging it in the hair, from the scalp till the roots, so that the product enters the hair pores. I then used a hot towel to steam my hair so that the pack penetrates well and then rinsed it off in 20 minutes.

The earth has music, for those who listen

A very essential part of our daily schedule is being in green surroundings. My mini is one wild child and can not call it day without being at the parks at least once per day.

Why it is essential to take kids to the natural surroundings more than indoor play areas?

Primarily, because there is so much to learn and gain from nature. Kids improve and build their fine motor skills, observations, creativity, imaginative thinking, problem solving so much better when they are left to play in natural surroundings. No books/ educational toys can ever teach a child what a hands-on experience with nature can.

Although we are not morning people at all, we have switched to visit the gardens early morning instead of/including the evenings because we feel that the early morning sun and fresh air do so much to improvise us.
